We extended our hope to find some donors who would like to partner in the share of our objective “service beyond profit". To make donation of any kind or any amount please write to us on kkews.org@gmail.com.

Proposed projects which are undergoing and are stuck in between for the financial resources

Khadijatul Kubra Education and welfare SocietyKhadijatul Kubra Educational & Welfare society, here after referred as KKEWS, is a not for profit, non political, social and educational welfare organization registered under societies act 1860, Income Tax Act sec(80G) & sec(12A) and also under foreign contribution(regulation) act 1976. The organization has been achieving greatly in its ambitious vision of promoting education among the rural poor especially minority population who, due to their special educational needs defer from attaining mainstream education in other schools. With its strategic intervention, KKEWS has been able to run an intermediate school for 8yrs and has been expanding in quantity and quality ever since. Started with very few resources but high motivation the members and the community has been able to mobilize funds at a huge scale themselves and been able to erect a three storied school building which is operational. The school is all girls’ school taking due care of socio cultural barrier to the girl’s education in the rural Muslim community. It has well addressed the problems of girl’s high dropout rate in the community. It not only educates a girl but it educates a whole family and a generation by educating them and bringing them to economic and education fore.

Jamia Khadijatul kubra Lil Banat here after referred as JKKLB is a school registered under madrasa board and Arabic & Farsi Examination board Lucknow. It does not only have Arabic Urdu and Farsi but also math, science and social sciences in its curriculum. Having the infrastructure of three storied building with all basic civic amenities, it has the total strength of 647 Girl students and 22 teaching staffs. The school has received a high response from the community and neighboring villages. The high number of applications for admissions has kept our spirits up and has always motivated us for quality and quantity expansion.

The hostel building is planned to be a three floored building with all basic, educational and recreational facilities. The project will be implemented in three phases divided into three floors to be completed one floor each year. The hostel will be attached to the school building and will be in the closed boundary of school vicinity. The strong community support and the high demand from far off community are the strength and purpose of the project.

Khadijatul Kubra Anglo Islamic School (Proposed) :

Khadijatul Kubra Anglo Islamic School (Proposed)Khadijatul Kubra Educational and welfare society is runs a school registered under madrasa board and Arabic & Farsi Examination board Lucknow. Having the infrastructure of three storied building with all basic civic amenities, it has been successfully running a residential all girls school with the total strength of 647 Girl students and 22 teaching staffs. The school has received a high response from the community and neighbouring villages. The high number of applications for admissions has kept our spirits up and has always motivated us for quality and outreach expansion. In the view of numerous enquiries about the admission and the logistic facilities for the community boys of far off Villages, make us come down to the idea off a CBSE affiliated modern public school with Islamic studies. The block and the villages in Hasanpur post are declared to be educationally backward, and especially the literacy rate amongst the Muslim community is very low. School dropout rate in the community mostly, children are extremely high due to various socio-cultural and economic restrictions. The School is poised to accommodate and educate boys majorly from Muslim community in the radius of 10 km of the village. A detailed need assessment was conducted with the help of a professional social work from Tata Institute Of social Sciences, Mumbai. The report clearly emphasizes the need of a modern public school especially for Muslim community children as they have been reported as the highest dropouts from the school at early age of 14Yrs. Mostly these children are placed with some cottage industry of other mechanical labours. The need assessment also focused o understanding the reason for the drop out and to assess the sustainability of the proposed project. It has been found that very crucial reason for such high dropout rate of Muslim community is Economic condition of the people in these villages which doesn’t permit them to afford good education in the nearest city and what they get from government schools is a mere Eyewash as they can’t see their children making any professional/occupational benefit from such education in government school. As per the report 85% people are intended to provide good higher education to their children provided it’s affordable and available to them in their nearby village. This seriously begets the need of an all boys Modern Public school with Islamic education which will facilitate Muslim community boys from remote and far of regions also, to take high end intermediate education and if interested can go for higher education through our coaching and guidance programme for admission in prominent universities like AMU Aligarh, JMI Delhi etc.

The school building is planned with all basic, educational and recreational facilities. The project will be implemented in three phases divided into three floors to be completed one floor each year. A residential hostel will also be attached to the school building and will be in the closed boundary of school vicinity. The strong community support and the high demand from far off community are the strength and purpose of the project.

The organization KKEWS is poised to complete the project with due diligence and meet the expectations of the funding agency and the target beneficiaries. The available land resource and assured resources in cash and kind from the community, makes the share of the organization in the project, commensurate and noteworthy. The maximum participation of the community is what it strives for.

The major objectives are:

To work in consonance with Sachar committee report and change the idea of education in this community.

To encourage and support the community to overcome economic dependency and chain marginalization process. To provide vocational training and computer training to the beneficiaries and make them employable or self employable.

To bring boys from the villages, especially from Muslim Minority community, into the main stream education at Primary, secondary and Higher Education level.

To provide quality education even to the marginalized section of the society who cannot afford it otherwise.

Jamia Khadijatul Kubra Vocational Training Institute :

Contextual problem :

Hasanpur Post in Sultanpur district is majorly identified as backward region in UP where mixed population with majority Muslim is habituated. The Region has very high school dropout rate especially amongst minority girls who then are left behind in the mainstream education and economy. The non participation of community women in economic activities subjugates them. Also per capita family income is low due to only single earning member and many dependents. It has been surveyed and found that main reasons for women and girls not participating in the economic activity is taboos attached to working out and also lack of qualification.

Rationale for Proposed project :

The proposed project is not just a replica of any common vocational training programme but has a strong rationale of working within the limitations of cultural norms and social values of the target group and reaching out to unreached. The project will bring women/Girls to a common forum, where they will not only learn and earn through Training and linked employment in collaboration with manufacturing units, but will also give them opportunity to participate into social and political matters gradually which otherwise has had been difficult in the region due to existing patriarchy.

This project will not only empower women economically but also as a byproduct will empower the women community as a whole on other pertaining issues like health, Sanitation, family planning etc. as well. This shall be done through forming SHG of beneficiaries.

Project Goals and Objectives:

To provide certified vocational training and linked employement to Community women. To generate livelihood opportunity for community women that is easily accessible and readily available.

To bring women of all age groups to economic fore.

To form SHGs of women in the villages and bring women to a common forum.

To empower women not only economically but also socially and politically in long run.

Project Strategy:

Step 1: Improvement of existing resources, getting registered with NIOS and building links with manufacturing firms.
Step 2: Promoting the programme through various low cost media especially through local people and one to one interaction via Field workers.
Step 3: Start Training as per the curriculum of NIOS with Classroom and practical mode.
Step 4: Giving certificates after taking practical exams through quality control measures.
Step 5: Giving sewing machines to the passed candidates on finance basis that shall be recovered through nominal installment of INR 25 only. They will be given stitching job work from various manufacturing Units that they can do from their home.

Expected Result:

The project is expected to train 60 women folk (15 per batch*2 batches*2 per annum) and provide work from home employment to minimum 25 in every six month on compounding basis. Every year 4 SHGs of 15 each will be formed.

Innovation:

The project is different from other vocational training programme as it not only trains and craft skills but also manufactures employment that is within the cultural limitation of the target groups. We have already collaborated with Brand grove Retails LLP (www.brandgrove.com / www.brandgroveexports.com) that will outsource its uniform and manufacturing business to the trained beneficiaries on regular basis. It shall also give experience certificate that can be used for employment any where in the garment industry. The basic idea is, training without employment is just like increasing population that begets unemployment so employment linkage is very strong component of the project.
